Radio show this evening

Tonight I will be appearing on Radio 5 live

And at midnight: Is having an unusual name a blessing or a curse?

Parents - especially the celebrity variety - constantly try to come up with original names for their kids.

But is it really a good idea?

If you're called Siri, Peaches or Goliath say, will it have more of an impact on your life than if you were named Bob or Sarah?

Do people think you're more interesting with an unusual name? Can a boring name hold you back?

Or can a unique name actually be a damaging cause of bullying and ridicule?

We'd love to hear from you: call 0500 909 693, text 85058 or email bacon@bbc.co.uk

baby muslim girl names

Well no sooner that I read my mails then another request flies in, this one came from a lovely couple who are going to be the proud parents of a baby Muslim girl.

They wanted to know if I had any ideas of good baby muslim girl names. Now the way they pick names is somewhat different to my culture but I do have a short list of some, so I hope this helps and I wish you many blessings for the safe arrival of your daughter!

I Hate My Name...Or How Not To Name Your Baby! PART III

Oh, so thats my name, D**** M*** JONES, at last I have a name, it must be pretty good because everyone keeps telling my Mum how different and unusual it is, it must be very special. One of my Mums’ friends is asking how she came to pick such a different and interesting name. All I know is that so far I am unusual, different, special and now interesting. All this adoration is almost too much for one baby to deal with. Sorry, what was I saying? That’s right, a friend of Mums’ is asking where she got my name from. Mum says that one of her lady customers at the hairdressers is American and she has a beautiful blonde little boy called D****, well he must be interesting and unusual too.

There isn’t much more to tell at this stage of my life as I really tend to just sleep and eat a great deal, Mum does take me out and about alot and everyone we meet says how interesting, unusual and different my name is.

Lets fast forward now into the future……………………………………..
